In today’s tip of the day, I want to share with you a tip I give all my clients who use a folding cane. What makes a folding cane a great option for people is its ability to fold and be stored in many different places like under a chair or in a bag. But one negative of the cane being folded all the time is it puts tension on the cord that runs through it. This tension over time can cause the cane to wear out faster then if it is left unfolded. So my tip is that whenever possible especially at night or when not using the cane for long periods is to leave it unfolded. Some good places to leave an unfolded cane include in the corner of a room or on a hook by the door. I hope this tip was helpful and helps preserve the life of many canes out there.
